THE TYPE AFFILIATED 30 LOGOS IN 30 DAYS PROJECT
I’m excited to announce that in June 2026 I’ll be starting a new personal project where I’ll be designing 30 custom hand lettered logos for 30 businesses… for a ridiculously low price.
I’m doing this for two reasons; first, I did a project similar to this a few years back when my friend Laura and I designed 30 logos in 30 days it was so much fun, I wanted to do it again as a way to grow as a designer and lettering artist. Secondly, many small, growing businesses don’t have a lot of extra money to spend on branding, but a good logo (especially in the age of AI slop,) can make a huge difference in businesses stand out and show who they are and what makes them special. I thought this project would be a wonderful way to both get some really fun practice in for myself, and help some small businesses along the way.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED
I’m looking for 30 small businesses to create a logo for and you could be one of them! Starting April 7th, I’m opening up applications for small businesses and brands like yours to have the opportunity to get a new custom hand lettered logo by Type Affiliated.
Typically for a logo project I would charge anywhere between $1,200-$10,000 for a logo, but for this project I’ll only be charging $100-$200 per logo (more info on that pricing later.) This means you’ll be able to get a professional logo for a fraction of the normal price.
HOW COME YOU’RE NOT DESIGNING THE LOGOS FOR FREE?
As much as I’d love to do them completely for free, I currently have a three month old baby at home, which means I have less time every day that I can work (which means I’ve got to be smart about my time to make sure I’m making a living.) After doing some math, charging a little bit for these logos let’s me justify doing this project, while still keeping the cost low for you.
IMPORTANT DATES
April 7th-19th: Applications are open to submit your business to be considered.
April 21th: Type Affiliated will select the businesses and send out emails to let the winners know they won!
April 25th: The winners will have until April 25th to sign their contract and submit their payment. ANYONE WHO FAILS TO SIGN THE CONTRACT AND SUBMIT PAYMENT BY THIS DATE WILL NO LONGER BE CONSIDERED FOR THE PROJECT. Their spot will be given to someone else.
April 27th: Additional winners will be notified.
June 1st-30th: Type Affiliated will design the logos and publish one a day on Instagram. Each winner will receive the design files for their finished logo on the day that it is published.
THE $100 LOGO
As mentioned earlier, I don’t typically design logos at this price. Because of that, the design process won’t be the same as with a normal logo job. There will be no multiple design options, no revisions, and no moldboards. This is a “you get what you get” situation. At the $100 price you will get to provide the following:
The name of your business (as you would like it to appear in your logo.)
A 100 word or less description of your busienss.
Three adjectives that you would use to describe your business (ex: timeless, rugged, natural.)
A link to your website or instagram if you have one.
That’s it! I’ll then take that info and will come up with a logo that I think best fits your business based on that info.
Your final design will include:
One logo design in Adobe Illustrator, PDF, JPEG and PNG formats, in three colors (black, white and one other color of my choosing.)
THE $200 LOGO
For anyone who wants to provide a little more specific direction, I’m also offering a $200 options. At this price point you can provide the following:
The name of your business (as you would like it to appear in your logo.)
A 100 word or less description of your business.
Three adjectives you would use to describe your business (ex: bright, active, fresh.)
a link to your website or instagram if you have one.
A specific color or colors that you would like me to include in the logo.
Up to 3 inspiration images showing examples of styles that you like.
The final design will include:
One logo design in Adobe Illustrator, PDF, JPEg and PNG formats, in five colors (black, white, and three other color options)
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
CAN ANYONE APPLY?
Yes! Anyone with a business or brand of any kind can apply. You can be a business that’s been around for a while or brand new, anyone is welcome to put in an application. Once all the applications are in, my goal is to choose the 30 winners from a variety of industries to keep it interesting (so I probably won’t choose 10 bakeries for instance.)
IS IT FREE TO APPLY?
Yes! It is free to apply, but if your business is selected as a winner you will be required to pay by April 25th in order to secure your spot and actually get a logo designed. No exceptions.
HOW WILL PAYMENT WORK?
Payment will be handled via Venmo. If you don’t have Venmo, you’ll need to get Venmo in order to participate.
HOW WILL THE WINNERS BE NOTIFIED?
The winners will be notified by email. I’ll also be announcing on Instagram that the winners will be selected, and reminding everyone to check their email.
WILL I BE ABLE TO USE THE FINISHED LOGO FOR ANYTHING I WANT?
Yes! The finished logo is all yours to use as you like.
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE FINISHED LOGO?
Due to the nature of this project and the low cost, there is the possibility that you might not love the finished logo. Of course, I’m going to do my very best to make sure each logo is awesome, but there’s always a chance you might not like it. If you don’t 100% love the finished logo I design for you, you don’t have to use it for your business. But there are no refunds. This is a “you get what you get” situation. If you are not willing to take that risk, please do not apply.
IF I LIKE THE LOGO, BUT WANT TO MAKE CHANGES OR GET THE LOGO IN DIFFERENT FORMATS, OR COLORS, IS THAT AN OPTION?
Yes! Once I’m completely finished with all 30 logos, if you would like to request changes to your logo, or would like additional layouts or colors of your logo, I can make those changes for you at additional cost. For those revisions, you will be billed hourly at a rate of $120 per hour (the same as a normal project.) Nobody will be required to make additional changes to their logo, but if you want them, that option will be available.
